Michael Phelps Gets Suspended and Loses Funding Due to DUI Case

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps announced recently that he's planning to go rehab. This was following his second DUI arrest. This doesn't mean that he gets away with just a pat on the back. USA Swimming announced that he is suspended for six months. He also can not compete in the world championships!

He also lost around $10,500, roughly six months worth of funding.

Here's what USA Swimming executive director, Chuck Wielgus, had to say:
"Michael's conduct was serious and required significant consequences. We endorse and are here to fully support his personal development actions."
